My small maple burl inlay arrived via UPS today. Never having seen a small sebenza in person, my first impression was "this thing is small". It does however fit the hand very well and has great balance. It is as beautifully crafted as I imagined. I can not believe the tolerances that this knife is built to. If I did not know better, I would think that the wood was an overlay rather than an inlay. There are absolutely no gaps to be found between the titanium and wood. CRK does indeed build the best quality knives. But then again you all know that

All you inlay guys, STOP IT !

STOP IT I say!!!

Here I'd been thinking about a decorated for the longest time, haven't found one yet that I've really liked, convinced myself I have two, I don't need any more,

THEN all these pictures of the inlays are coming up. SO now it starts all over again.

In truth thanks for posting the pix of your knives, very nice, all of them.

Hmmmm, Joe, you're not too happy are you?

I am for sure and glad to hear you got yours, that wood looks pretty nice!

True, I can't believe how well they inlaid the wood on the titanium, guys at work today thought they just stuck it ontop, when I explained it to them they all went ohhh, nice!

Not sure how I'm going to saddle mine....right now I'm clipping it to the pocket and NOT putting anything else in the pocket....!

Joe:

Congrats on your new knife! I bet you are glad you took my advice. Picture is very nice. You get what you pay for. I hope mine looks that nice. The premium you paid is the price for having it now and getting what you want. I ordered mine in March and won't get until late August. Also I don't know what it will look like. I have a lot of faith in CRK and know I will be thrilled. They are making only three small left hand woodies for Y2K. One for me, one for Rick and I don't know where the other one is going.
Enjoy that beautiful knife and don't underestimate its abilities. It's very strong and wicked sharp! Use that baby, don't keep it a drawer. Clip it in your front pants pocket and don't put anything else in that pocket! Now don't you feel soooooo good?

Congrats Joe on your new one. All these inlays are really nice. I'm gonna go broke trying to keep up with all these excellent knives!

Gary, I am actually very happy with my new knife. I have kind of subscribed to bigger is better as far as knives are concerned, until now. My smallest folder before my new small sebenza arrived was my Emerson CQC-7. So I am kind of new to this "gentlemen's folder" thing. My brother-in-law, who got me started on this knife thing, swears by the small folders.

I just got home from a little outing with friends where we had a small bonfire. I just started to whittle away at some wood with my new knife and could not believe the chunks that started flying!

. Amazing job for a small knife.

As far as carrying is concerned I am still at the stage where I leave it in the included leather slip sheath inside a buttoned pocket. With time I'm sure I will dare to clip it to the pocket. An empty pocket of course. Gary, I'm sure you will saddle yours up with one of your fantastic custom sheaths. I hope you post the pic when you're done. I can't wait to see it. I know it's gonna be special.

I will have to post a picture soon of the knife with my custom 2 tone stainless steel Walther PPK with wood grips. They make an awesome pair.

Congrats, Joe. That is one fine knife. I really appreciate the time you guys spend posting these babies and sharing with us less fortunate.

That's maple burl? It looks like walnut to my untrained eye. Either way, it's gorgious!

Joe, the need to make a home became Top priority today, as I drew the knife out to show some one the nice workmanship the thumbstud caught on the pocket and the blade opened up, scared the kaka out of me as the knife is scalpel sharp! I've heard tell of this happening and this is really the first Sebenza I've been carrying in the pocket, mainly because I'm not sure how to make up the wood inlay on the back side when it comes to the sheath, but I'm about to figure that out!

So take care you guys with that thumbstud it's catchy!
