Thanks Dave!!! It Looks AWSOME!!!!!! The Companion too!!!! Did you mean for them to have a Hamon or is that just a byproduct of the heat treat? Can't wait to test drive them this weekend!!!! Thanks again!!!!

I am guessing this is a passaround knife, can you enlighten us alittle further please Thanks:)

OK you mean Dave Beck right?? The companion clued me in :)

(Edited to add) oopps we were typing at the same time.

Sweet! Look forward to hearing how you like it. It's such a unique knife, I'd love to be able to play with one some day.

Ric;
Glad to hear you recieved your knives. I believe you'll be well pleased as you discover they perform as well as they look.
Now you can discover for yourself the degree of quality which can be achieved in a hand-made product that's crafted from the soul. You can now be witness to the difference in my knives as you will find I invest more than just time & materials into my work.

The temper line you referred to is intentional and is visible on all my knives. As I had advertised, I differentially harden & temper my blades in my shop. I don't like to etch the blade to highlight the temper lines as I prefer a more refined finish. If I was to leave the blade blued, it would be pretty dark blue/black like a gun barrel so I further hand-polish it out to a nice dark grey patina to allow the distinct temper lines to show through. I like the look as it demonstrates the skillfully applied heat-treatment for my own professional touch.
Have fun with these, I'm certain you'll be very pleased.

I received my WSK from Dave Beck today. I bought the set from his Web site. I want to say a few words here about the buying process. Mr Beck is great! he stayed in commo with me on a regular basis about my knives. I received an e-mail a few days before the knives telling me when I may receive them, he was on it! The knives look great and the WSK feels awesome! Thanks Mr. Beck

Richard from Fort Drum,

Dave,
Thanks for the run down. I thought the temper line was intentional. It is very easy to see that you put your heart and soul in your work and I am grateful. That is sometimes hard to find these days. I'll keep in touch, when you catch up with the orders you have now I'd like to order a couple different WSKs. The smaller D model and maybe a damascus. Thanks again.

Ric

I'm jealous! I haven't gotten mine yet!!

Honestly, I'm glad you guys got them first. Now you can see for yourselves what I've been raving about. I can't wait to hear your reports! The pictures really don't do them justice do they?

I should be getting mine today. I ordered mine with a custom flap pouch on the sheath, large enough to house the SAK Rucksack, EZ Lap diamond rod, and a small firesteel. I will post as soon as it arrives.

This weekend will be the comparison between TOP's and David's original C model. I can't wait.

Matt

Can't wait to see how the TOPs knife holds up. I don't think it will do as well as Dave’s. The angle of the grinds is much steeper and the little experience I've had with the TOPs (though well made) some of the design features seem just a bit off. Not as comfortable to me.
I got my sheath with that cool Scout carry feature and a separate sheath for the companion. I'll be really test-driving her this weekend. And all next month I will be at the Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School putting her through the paces every chance I get. I'll let you know.
