Got my X-42 Field Knife... one question

I received my SOG X-42 Field Knife from AG Russell. That was quick service. This is my first SOG knife and it is excellent. I'll admit that it is tad larger than I expected . But it has a good shape and blade thickness and the whole design seems well-thought out. I especially like the glove-friendly grip and lanyard hole. It arrived shaving sharp. I am sure it will serve me well as a field knife.

I do have some questions about the leather sheath that came with it. Just how tight is the sheath supposed to fit? Is there some break-in procedure? I am asking because this sheath is very tight.

Anyway, I am very pleased with my new X-42 Field knife. It was a good value and AG Russell got it to me at warp speed.

Hi Rev.

Thanks for your great comments about your initial impression of our Field Knife. The leather sheath will "break in" over time. Starting out snug is normal.

I feel dumb at this point because the sheath is breaking in quite nicely. After struggling to get the blade in the sheath the first few times it started to loosen up and now it is fine. Just like a new holster or a new pair of cowboy boots .
