Please excuse the crappy cell phone pics and boring backdrop but I was too tired after getting home to go all out.
Anyway, I love it when I get packages like this:
'Cause inside you find stuff like this:
The bronze anodizing was a surprise. It is much more subtle than what I was expecting. It is more like a light wash with a dull gold tinge when viewed in the sunlight. It is a beautiful, impecably built knife as one would expect. But what really got me was how perfectly it fits my hand.
I am not a big guy but I do have very big mitts. This thing fits me like a glove. I didn't think anything could come between me and my XM-18 non-flipper but now I can't see myself carrying anything but a 24. I have two XM-18's, a flipper and a non-flipper.
I carry the non-flipper everywhere, the flipper has stayed in the safe zince I got it; mostly because my hand rides up against the guard that the flipper becomes when the blade is open. No such problem with the 24. Most comfortable knife I've ever owned. I think I have my grail. I am going to send my green non-flipper back to the ranch next month to have it bronze anodized like its big brother. I think they'll be all I've ever wanted or needed in an edc. And the olive scales/bronze ano' kick butt!
