I was looking at eBay's Spyderco's and noticed a SuperHawk that had an hour left.(and was still dirt cheap) Brand new in box shipping included. I bid it up a little and I was surprised that I was the high bidder pretty fast. I was even more surprised while watching the count down that nobody else bid and I bought the thing way cheaper than I ever thought I'd get a NIB SuperHawk for.

Way to go. I love hearing about people's good deals...'course I get all warm and fuzzy when its ME!

ps Let us know what you think of the "Harpy on Steroids".

Anybody else ever get a knife they really wanted cheaper, than they ever thought they would? (maybe by bidding or just a great deal you stumbled onto)

Every time I see a good deal for a Ranger or Scrap Yard that I've been looking for I don't have enough money because I already bought another knife so some other tool.

C'mon, tell us what you got it for! PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSE!

I saw it and it was a little more than 100, I think 108 and I placed a few bids and it went right up. So, I'm thinking someone has bid what they will pay and this isn't gonna stop cheap. Placed another bid and it stopped at 135.50 with me as the high bidder and I watched (in mild shock) the clock click down and it was mine for that.

I got a new in box lum tanto spyderco. folder up for auction right now on ebay.

And there's less than a day left.

It's really low in price right now considering what they usually go for.

That's an incredible deal. Congrats!

It's funny, this is like the knife version of catching the huge trout.

And yes, I am in great admiration/jealousy/admiration!

:)

The econ is going into the crapper people are really just now starting to feel the effects of higher commodity prices. Wait for six months if the commodity prices continue at these levels and I promise you your going to see stuff start selling at very low prices and not just knives.

I believe it's already started to happen. I placed another bid yesterday on a pristine numbered Shabaria and got it for the same price as the SuperHawk. (i really need to stop looking at the Spyderco's there:) )

I agree with Jill. The same thing is happening with guns, RV's, Boats,Trucks & muscle cars, etc. If you are the one with money you can get some great deals. If you are selling you will be lucky to not take a bath getting rid of whatever you are selling.

There are always exceptions of course. Joe
