Dude!

You're making me think I better finally snag one of those little gems...

Thanks for the great comparison shots.

Those are an incredible pair! Really nice comparison pics of the spine, too. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone, this is a sweet one. If you're on the fence ya better leap! This is a slicer for sure

Got mine yesterday. Sweet! First Busse I'd really consider an EDC. Without the clip, it could even ride RFP. AND - Amazingly fast service - Thanks Skunk!

But I have one question for those who bought one (or Skunk..... OR Jerry.... of course)

When I look at the back side of the blade there appears to be small (I'm talking VERY small, can't feel them) "ripples" running parallel to the edge. Kinda looks like ocean waves headed into the beach viewed from the air. You only see them in a certain reflection.... And tipping the knife a bit, they vanish. I won't even TRY to take any picts but I think you get the idea?? At first, I thought they might be inclusions in the blade steel but since they vanish in a different light angle, I doubt that. My guess now would be something from the heat treating or something from the grinding (or both?). Anyone else notice this??? Just curious.

Thanks!

Ken

All satin blades from Busse have a gloss on them, (if thats what your are talking about) like skunk said its ok!

I'll try to get some pics.

they are from a polishing wheel, you should see them on both sides. it's ok

.

Thank you sir! I figured something along those lines. The odd thing (to me) is it really does seem to be only on the back side of the blade. Any normal explanation I could come up with would, I'd think, show up on both sides, as you say. No worries, I'd just not noticed this on any previous. Kinda cool pattern really. Like a shimmery Damascus ;).

Anyway, appreciate the quick reply (and more, the quick delivery). Now, gotta go cut something:thumbup:.

Yeah, it's not really a "gloss" to my way of thinking. I can see it being from polishing pads as Skunk says, but it really is more like a light "wave" pattern IN the gloss. Kinda like you see the brush pattern in varnish..... if that makes any sense?? Anyway, I'm just gonna go enjoy it! One sweet knife, for sure!

Thanks!

Ken
