Hawk, great job in both departments, shooting and knife work. Did the bullet exit? DM
Quite a blessing! Thanks for sharing your adventure!Went hunting this morning. Shot this meat buck at 42 yards with my Ruger Blackhawk .41 mag.I never used a gut hook before to skin a deer.Work like a champ.

I was using a 212gr, cast powder coated bullet 8 gr of Unique powder, and Starline brass. Thanks for sharing. What load were you using in your .41?
Andrew
Yes I used the Buck 110 the most.I love the Collector Club 110 .Good luck on your hunt.Nice buck, did you use a 110 also?the bullet you are using is perfect Id say all the energy it could put into the deer was used up,hen you find the bullet on Tyd opposite side under the hide that's a good sign.lots of fresh meat now!im still able to fill one more tag,I'll be using a .44 magnum Ruger carbine with hornady 225 grain ftx bullets.
Hawk, thanks for the additional info.. That Collector's 110, did that have micarta handles with a drop point blade of 420 steel?
Your buck looks like he had plenty of browse and you still have leaves on your trees. That's normal for that region. I think my kinfolks have not had enough freeze to loose their tree leaves. Wouldn't doubt you have hogs in that area. Good job! DM
