Wow...what an awesome knife! I love the bone scales on it...they have a certain translucence about it that really gives it some great depth. The whole knife is executed perfectly and it's polished up all nice and pretty....awesome. this brings me full-circle in my knife collecting.

When I worked on the farm as a kid, my dad always took us to the local hardware store and I would stare at all the pretty work knives in their display. On the bottom were the Schrades, just above that were the Bucks, and at the top were the Case knives. My dad always carried a Buck stockman and Grandpa still carries a 30+ year old Old-Timer. I remember asking my dad why he didn't get the Case knives and he would either say that they were too pretty to use on the farm or that they were too expensive for his taste....but even as a kid, I had always wanted one. Some years later, I got trapped in the whole 'tactical' knife trends and only recently fell back in love with Case.

I really enjoyed reading their 'literature' that came with the knife...."This knife is NOT a weapon". I got a chuckle at their tongue-in-cheek jab at the tactical knife phenomenon over the last decade. Classic.

Congrats on your new Case...
I think a lot of us have had an attraction to the brand that started when we were younger. I can't speak for others but, even though I occasionally go through a "burn-out" phase where I give the knives a break for awhile, it always comes back...
That said, I think the fact that Case enclosed literature that states "This is not a weapon", is a little over the top....
It could very much be used for a weapon, just as easily as any other knife.
I understand what they were trying to say but, the folks that buy Case knives already understand that they are not a "Tactical Style Weapon"... JMO

ENJOY.. It won't be your last :D

Looks real nice, congrats on the new knife.

While case does make some "pretty" knives, they sure have a lot of plain 'ole yeller' handle work knives too. Heck, for the price of a decent dinner you can add a little peanut to the collection for times when a larger folder would be out of place.

Right now, I think Case offers a very good product at their price point. The only better. Value (which is of course a relative term) that I see is Victorinox. For example I ordered a bunch of Soldiers (ina tin gift box with a darn nice led flashlight) for graduation presents for some relatives and freinds' kids. They were all of $15 from amazon. In the many Victorinox knives that have passed through my hands, near all have had perfect fit and finish.

They are just covering their rear ends..I could use a hammer or a stapler as a weapon but I don't see a warning label on them.

Just added a review to the review section if anyone's interested. It has some better pics than the stock pic listed above...

Just got one of these also. It is a real beauty isn't it? Very good fit and finish on mine.

Read your review in the other forum! Great write up and cool pics. I love how you paired it with that flat top FP.
