Well, I worked out a trade & received a Spyderco PPT (NIB) on a trade today. I am impressed.

Construction sure seems like it's a frame-lock with overlays. Love the sculpted G-10. Provides excellent grip W/O being too rough. Amazing ergos, IMHO.

When the Barong came out, I though great & actually liked it, although it seemed a little small for my hands if using W/O the choil.

Then the Khukuri, which I really liked, but something about it didn't click.

Now, the PPT comes & I'm a happy camper. Yes, if I handle it W/O the choil, my pinky rests on the end, but it seems more comfortable than the others. It's heavy, but doesn't really feel its weight while handling it. I like low-riding clips & this one works well, thank you very much.

All in all, an excellent knife. Yes, it's not lefty friendly, but that just means I'll carry something else for my left (Waved Yojimbo).

Thank you Sal for making this one.

It is impossible to look at a picture of this knife and make a decision that it's not for you OR it should be. This knife must be held in you hand...once you do you'll buy it for sure if you are already a fan of Spydercos. Just a heck of a design. gw

I got one a few weeks ago, and it kicked everything out of my pocket, and has been riding shotgun ever since.

I really dig the unconventional looks, and the great ergonomics. It really follows my Spyderco rule of thumb: "If it looks weird then it's probably got a comfy grip."

That's not to say that more conventional looking Spydercos aren't also comfortable, but Sal and Co. really know how to "get it right."

I love mine to death. I even keep the short lanyard on there - it helps extract the knife with the deep carry clip plus I like to look down and see it sticking out of my pocket ;) Frivolous but true.

That's funny, but have to agree. A lanyard would help to get it out if needed very quickly.

I'm amazed at how comfortable it is in either position. I can't say that most folders with a choil are that comfortable using the choil, but putting your hand back & not using it is, too.

I also agree that it's one of those that really needs to be handled to really know if you'll like it. I got mine on a trade, but if I had were to buy one, I probably would've tried to handle one, 1st.

I got my PPT in today too, been waiting for this one and I think, overall, it's probably the best Sypderco I've owned and I've owned a lot. I wish there was jimping on the choil, but that's my only complaint.
Props to Spyderco...I have a Gayle Bradley and the PPT and they get more pocket time than my Strider and my Sebenza. Those two knives are just great. Plus, I love the direction the PPT takes with the sculpted G10. Been a long time user, since my first fully serated stainless Delica probably back in - 98 I'd guess? You guys have come a hell of a long way and every year continue to bring out kick ass knives.
Good job.

Well said and I agree - the latest Spyderco offerings are getting better and better and the GB and PPT are indicative of that. Props to Spyderco.
