A few days ago i got my RC-4 and i have to say I'm liking it very much. I was worried it would be too big, bigger than I'm use to but its just right. And the Kydex sheath, great. I just pick this thing up , pull out the knife and slide it back in ," click". I think i'm a little addicted to that click. Anyway I'm impressed with the craftsmanship and i think RC got it just right.

You made a great choice, the ESEE 4 is a great all round knife along with the 3.

mbiraman, congrats on your new knife. Have you had a chance to cut much with it, and if so what?

That "click" is nice. Sheaths, holsters, whatever. I like positive retention without snaps, widgets and doo-hickeys.

Agree - my RC-5 is my first dealing with Kydex (gasp!!) and I love how easily it securely holds such a large knife without any velcro straps or buckles!

I love how the sheath of my RC-4 holds the knife so well...I wear it inverted on my shoulder strap and feel secure in doing so.

I haven't really done much yet although i'm running out of arm hair and paper thats lying around. I bought it specifically as a camp knife . I live in the Selkirk Mnts and the woods are all around but rarely take more than my Spyderco Tenacious when i go on day hikes but this summer i plan on doing more weekends and overnighters, hiking and Kayak camping with my new Warbonnet Blackbird and look forward to having the RC-4 with me. Now i'm looking for a good system for keeping my knives sharp. I'm a custom woodworker so keep my chistles and plane blades razor sharp but the systems i have don't accomodate knives so a new system like the edge pro or a 1x42 sander is needed. Anyone got a delta 1x42 for sale??

Congrats on the blade, trying to decide on the 3 or 4 myself, but yes kydex does rock definately beats all those clips and buttons and everything else they slap on there to hold a blade.

I just got mine in DT.
Haven't had much time to play with it, but I'm likeing what I see so far.
