Hi this is DaQo'tah,
Ok boys.... I got some Rambouillet sheep horn to make a knife handle out of.

I found a Texas rancher lady, who raises sheep, and then sells the skull sets for a ton of money, but she was just tossing away the horns/skull sets that were un matched!

I placed an order for 4 horns and this week I got them via UPS.

Now the hard part, I wish to make a knife horn handle in the style of an Ed Fowler Pronghorn, But Im not sure how wide the 2 horn spacers are.

I have the Fowler video, and have watched Mr. Fowler cut the horn to make each spacer, but I still cant seem to understand how wide to cut them free from the horn at, and then how thin to sand them later as I fit them onto the tang?.

Does anyone own such a blade, or could tell me how wide to make my first cuts on the horn?

I can tell you that on mine they're 3/4".

the 3/4 inch sheep horn sounds about correct, for it would then match the 3/4 inch brass guard.

But I still dont know how wide to cut the horn free of the bulk of the horn...
