Got this damn HOGFSH in a Survival sheath! pic heavy

This took some work, I had to cut the insert to allow the blade, it wouldn't hardly fit with no insert. So I cut a good portion of the spine edge off and left it on there where the blade narrows. It is a really tight fit but it works well. I am happy with it.

Spec Ops needs to make a bigger sheath, that's all. They ought to ask Jerry for a rough estimate of the number of SH variations there are out there. They might have an untapped market to exploit. :)
 
Absolutely agree with Progunner. It's a lot of work to get these thicker FSHs to fit.

Agree and disagree. It is a great sheath and is easy to come by but I would WAY rather spend an extra $10 or so and have Dan at Semper Paratus Tactical make me one to my specs. I have a couple of his sheaths and some of his military gear for SAR use and he does amazing work.
 
And back to the initial post (sorry!)... That is an great adaption of the sheath! I ordered one for my HH and found that it didn't fit. I also couldn't help noticing you had sating with black micarta...a rare combo if ordered that way! I think there were only a few from the store and that's it. Wasn't available at order time iirc(?)
 
I don't know what scales they are, could you tell if I took closer pics? I was always curious, also the LOGO is almost ghosted, can't hardly see it all.
 
Those look like magnum black canvas to me. It's a beautiful knife :)
 
Thanks, I like it, it is a user. I am getting a Black/Black HOGFSH from Rat on mon or tues. Then at the end of the week I should be sending Randall money for a MOASH with snakeskin scales
 
Wirenut or anyone who reads this, do you think a regular FSH would fit into that particular sheath from specops without having to make any mods to it?
 
i was afraid of that, i really like the look of the spec ops sheath with the split loop. i might look into semper paratus. does anyone know if they have anything similiar in design?

gimmejr is right, but the mods for a FSH will be very easy in comparison to the HOFSH or the HH. Worth the $ and worth the effort.:thumbup:
