At 2025 Blade Show in Atlanta, my wife and I stopped by the Microtech booth, naturally I was there to check out the Borka Stitch. Been a fan of the design for years, so getting to check one out in person and hold it in my hand was #1 on my list.
When we got there, someone was camped out front, hugging up the whole display like he owned the knives
umm, rude... I leaned in and said, “Excuse me, do you mind?”
The guy casually walks behind the counter, and says, “Which one are you interested in?”
Tall, bald, that familiar accent
Something clicks.
Hold up… That’s Sebastijan Berenji!
The man behind Borka Blades who literally built these knives.
In the middle of Blade Show chaos, I’d just unintentionally asked Sebastijan to move aside so I could check out his own work
He didn’t blink. Just smiled and started talking about the knife like it was any regular day while my knees were shaking and I was blushing like 13 year old girl who just met her idol.
Sebastijan was an absolute pleasure to meet. Chill, down to earth, felt like talking to a friend about his project.
It was a great experience. Got to talk to Sebastijan and walk away with the Borka Blades Patriot, my grail knife.
Absolute legend! The man, and the knife.
