Howdy,

A 'local' came up to have me sheath a couple of his knives.

And I got to play with his Waki, very cool. Well designed, and lively in the hand.

This is the 'Deep Woods "Combat"' rig I built for him...

What do you all think?

Very nice:thumbup: Is that a diamond rod on the waki?
Why have you left some of the holes unriveted?

Thanks. Yes, that is a Buck Diamond Rod Sharpener, which he really likes, and I think is a great idea.

I left the holes without eyelets for a number of reasons, functionally the sheath does not need any more rivets, the holes act as a place where he can bolt other accessories or lash paracord or ziptie a pouch in place, the rivets add expense and weight, and it has come to be my 'look'. : )

I was trying to place Boyds. I guess I have been up that way a few times. I go to Twin Lakes on the Colliville reservation frequently. Planning a trip up that way in a few weeks probably.

Boyds is a dying town, about 7 miles north of Kettle Falls, on 395.

Nice area up here, just moved up, after my marriage.

Nice work. I did a Waki sheath for a friend and decided once was enough. I vowed to stick to 10" and under blades from then on. It turned out ok but I like the angular lines of yours better.

That's some VERY nice country you live in. I was up there for work a couple of months ago to do some work out near Boundary Dam. From where I was, I could just about see Canadian soil.

Thank you!

Yeah, they can be challenging. This one went well.

Yeah, it is nice, and I am looking forward to exploring it. Still getting settled in, and catching up on sheath work, but once that is accomplished, I will be out more. And it will be nicer then, not as hot.

Best,
Marion
