I must admit that my hands a little sore after my first weekend with the BK2. Makes me want a BK9 even more(my excuse for the gf ;)
It needs a good sharpening now, and the coating coming off has inspired me to strip it. So that will happen soon.
Over all... I love this knife!

That's what I like to see!!! A well loved Becker...dang brother, you beat on that thing pretty good!!

I think they look better with that 'user' look anyway IMO. Thanks for the pics!

Great pics man, I'm planning to beat mine like a red headed step child over spring break.

Love the BK2! I have used one, but I don't have one yet. Think my next Becker is the 5.
Congratz on the new steel, and totally strip it!

Now that, is how you take your BK2 for a walk.

Great post, good thread.

Awesome photos man, that is a ton of wood to process with a single 5in knife. I'm impressed.

Try a lanyard to help with the hand fatigue that comes from chopping :).

Thanks guys, I had a blast treating it like the beast it is. My gf even retracted her "why do you need another knife?" statement and said that this one really was impressive. :)
She was concerned when we left because I told her i didn't bring an axe, just a couple of knives. haha Job well done BK&T!

I plan to order some paracord this week.

Seriously, that log you attacked with the BK2 was gigantic. I think the BK9 would be right up your ally. That, or the Machax, or the Kabar Cutlass Machete. Only thing is then who KNOWS how big of stuff you'd be willing to take on!

Also, were you batoning it through that, or were you chopping and prying it apart?

Haha! Not sure how much bigger, but I'm sure it would be a little easier.
As for the log, I was stabbing in to any split I could find and prying apart using the ground and my body for leverage. Some sections I just had to chop through. Once short enough to get above, I would baton the rest down to firewood.

Looks like that BK-2 got hungry. Big appetite...nice!!! One more camping trip and you wont have to worry about strippin her. Thanks for the killer photos. I'm itchin for some better weather...my BK-2's stomach is a rumblin!!

excellent night hacker slash shots :)

Looks like a good little work out for the 2. Was that Big Bear by chance? I've been dyin' to get out to the mountains, its been too long.

No not Big Bear. It was actually a long day trying to find a place to camp. Started off exiting the 2 and driving through all of angeles NF, then through silverwood, then crestline, lake gregory, lake arrowhead, and we ended up going to the only place we found open for camping... Azusa canyons. Not what I wanted, but being able to play with the BK2 for the weekend made it all better. ;)

Very very cool. Nice pics and leave those battle scars fir a bit. Gives her some character.

Good post.

Looks like you gave it a good going over!

Get busy with the wet and dry and you'll have rid of those minor wiggles on the edge in no time.
