went on a weekend trip to do some camping and to practice some wilderness skills. hung out with aaron pullon and a few guys and got to handle his protoype red scorpion six evo knife that single grind hacked thru anything i could throw at it, it was simply amazing. I cant wait to get my hands on one. along with making a very durable knife the guy is amazingly down to earth and easy to get along with, but then what do you expect from a fellow ex army guy. if your thinking about a great camp knife in the future i would recommend contacting him. he said he will be starting production in the near future and i already have an order for one. here is the link to the demo of the knife.http://www.campfiretalks.com/new-developments/rs6-wsk-evolution/

It's not the steel. It's the fact he has poor ethics. He was ordering knives (made in China) and then selling them as "his" Hand Made knives. My guess is that this leopard hasn't changed his spots, only his supplier.
 
i dont know anything about that just the knife i got to handle this weekend. seemed on the up and up to me. the knife i used worked flawlessly, still cant wait for mine to get here.
 
hillbilly i just wanted to post my experience with the knife i got to try out this weeekend you all can decide what you think for yourselves. i talked extensively with the man one on one and my bs detector didnt go off once. i was a mp in the army for 8 yrs and a civilian cop for 5. i beat the heck out of that blade this last weekend and it held up perfectly. here read this. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?page=5&t=216861. im frankly just glad to see someone having some success, and making a product that he stands behind. if you still have any issues from this point i suggest you take it up with him
 
he is doing a production run on the knife being discussed in that thread and said he will ship to anyone who can show proof that they purchased one form jensen and never recieved it. honestly its a shame more people arent willing to make right what jensen did to all those people. im sure he could use a hand so step up and make a positive impact hillbilly.

cptcavman, a review of the knife is one thing, posting purchase information is spamming. Spamming for a banned scammer is really unwelcome here. Stick to knife reviews.
 
Red Scorpion are rip off artists. I noticed an ad in Blade magazine about a year ago (which had a picture of a WSK-style knife). I e-mailed them out of curiosity and requested a sample, I provided my Fed Ex account number and within a week I had one (for free, just paid for shipping):

It was a complete piece of crap!! Made in China with poor grind lines, poor grinds, wrong grinds for the intended purpose, atrocious fit and finish ..... there were so many things wrong with it that I just trashed it in the end (after beating the crap out of it) :mad:

Buy from a reputable custom maker, it's worth it. I know a knife is just a knife, but for the price of these paperweights, damn some people got ripped off. :eek:

Stay away from Red Scorpion Six. :thumbdn:

(P.S. They're also currently ripping off Bayley Knife from the UK who designed Bear Grylls survival knife, RSS calls it the ASK6. :thumbdn:).

sorry for prices didnt that was a no no. but i used this and it was not a piece of crap i dont know what you used. or what you recieved for free but i guess free sums it up. you get what you pay for. lets see some pics of the knife you used was it from red scorpion six, and how many knives has sily peter knocked off, sog seal, cold steel, stryder, and tops. i just wanted to post about a knife i have handled and used. and i posted in the knife review section didnt realize about the price issue. personally i dont appreciate the negative, bashing, for posting a review of a knife. i thought that was what the review section was for. if i had posted a negative review would i even be dealing with this.
 
flatgrinder ill tell you what send me one of your knives and ill do a video review of it and the evo to to see who has the better knife. what do you say
 
Flatgrinder, HA HA. I don't know who in their right mind would give a delivery account number to an unknown maker. Especially in China. I would like to see pics of your "sample". I still don't know why captncavman got busted for spam.
I do know that a lot of the moderators and followers on here jump on this band wagon that Red Scorpion Six misleaded people. Can you show me the proof how he did this?
As far as review I have used this knife and it functions better than most knives and axes I have handled. It chops through wood like it was made to do. It sharpens very easy!! All in one package.
He is having it made here as a custom and overseas for us budgeted minded people. The review should be on performance and not on preconceived opinions of people or moderators that have not even used the equipment! Nor should someone be publically chastised for liking a company that others don't. The knife works good and is a great valued product to the members of this forum. I thought that was what this forum was built on. Thanks for a good knife RS6!!
 
trentu, listen up.

1. Posting sales information in a discussion forum is a violation. That has nothing to do with what knife or company is involved.

2. Don't go telling me why we don't want Red Scorpion around here when you obviously don't know. We do have people who were unhappy with his lies about provenance and materials.

But the reason he was banned was for violating rules about what to post where, and spamming forums where he didn't belong.

3. If you have a problem with any moderator here, post it in Service & Support. I don't want you disrupting this discussion with it.
 
1. I did not know that cptncavman was intentionally selling anything.
2. When you say we, what % of the people do you speak of? A large % of the people on this forum that have purchased the knives are happy with them. I do know that not all people on this website are disatisfied with them.
3. I will address any moderation issues with Spark on future matters.
I was just posting my opinion on the forum. Sorry for stepping out of line.
 
see all this drama because a few couldn't say anything nice, and disregaurded what the granmother told them "if ya got nothig good to say then Keep it to yourself. again apologies on the pricing issue and get back to the nife eval if anyone still cares after all of this.
 
well since all the bickering seems to be ove and the storm has passed folks this is one solid knife that works, im counting the days till my knife arrive so i can get right at it. as i stated before all the drama this knife is made in the usa in o1 tools steel very solid usa product. love it.... now watch the vid and tell me what ya think. thanks in advance.
 
this thing rocks out and can chop all day long. great cant wait for the weather to get better and the work schedule to let up so i can use it some more got lots of stuff i want to let the evo bite.here are some pics.

i talked to red scorpion six today and have talked to him quite a few times. the man said its made here in the states. thats good enough for me because i know the man and dont think he will bull**** me. if he says its ok and then you can bet your hind end that its high speed low drag. as for all the concern about red scorpion six blades hes not the white dwarf. if you want to try the knife i suggest you contact him. he may even give you the info that you want, im not here to for anyone elses interest im here to look at knives see whats happening in the knife world and to learn a few things while i tinker in the garage. Soooo from now on contact red scorpion six blades if you want the f***** specs and the maker. i dont post alot on here usually just lurk but i pay for 2 accounts to support this place. so take the review for what it is a F***** review. if you dont like it look at another review. thanks for lookin
