Hey Guys-

There's just a couple things to button up (shop pics and such) but Mitch Lum has built a web-site for me!!!

I really like it, I think he did a great job :D

I'd appreciate any thoughts (good and bad)

Thanks! :)

Nick,

That is a very fine site. I like all I see of it. You are even much better a looking young man than I had imagined. The biography you included is a strong point. Well Done.

Thanks for taking a look Roger! I appreciate it! :)

I know as a maker I'm usually most interested in a guy's gallery and shop tour. I've got to finish up a couple orders before I can finish painting the ceiling...before I can take the shop pics ;) I know most people wouldn't care, but I do.

I'd like to put together some info about the Scandi blades...you and I both know there's a big market there, and we should continue to address it.

Well, speaking of orders, I hear the shop calling me :)

Thanks!
Nick

Nick and Mitch, that's a great site! I like the layout, colors, font and font size and the way you've laid out the Gallery page. All the info about your knives is a great touch and something you don't see often. Nick you are a very fine writer, too. Everyone knows how hard that is and you, like the good ones, make it look easy. Kind of like knifemaking, eh? ;) You're very fortunate to have learned what your life called you to at an early age, and to have the "grit" to do it well. Well done Nick.

I like that site Nick. Tasteful, easy to maneuver and loads fairly quickly on dial up.

One problem though....your picture. Why don't you look like a cranky old Bastid like the rest of us? :D

Nick, great site and amazing blades!
the only thing I would change is the font color on a lot of the page headings, you might want to put something in there with a little more contrast as opposed to black on blue, even a dark grey would do the trick while still keeping that overall look.

I'm not sure where this came from, but for a more professional look, it's a general rule: if you have a page that is not complete and you need to put "coming soon" or "under construction", just take out that whole page until it is done. I have pages on my site that are still being worked on and I don't practice what I preach but that might be something to consider as well.

but again, your knives are fantastic, I relly like that Shredd Fighter....damn that's nice....

Hey that's a great site!

I like to clean layout and some great pic's of your knives.

I agree the info about you is good, writing up your own bio is always difficult to do.

Great site, Nick!

Your site shows the same attention to detail, desire for perfection, and wonderful personality that I see in your work.

The pics of your work are really good. As for the pic of you.....well, all I can say is you clean up right nice! :D

I've been telling myself for the past few years that I've got to get me a Nick Wheeler knife or two before he gets to big for me to afford.........looks like I may have waited to long!

Thanks Guys! :)

As far as connecting to the site...I have an excruciatingly slow dial-up on a dinosaur of a computer, and the site seems to load real decent for me...so I figured it'd be good for most.

I really appreciate all the feed-back. It's been long overdue, me having a site, and I'm really proud of what Mitch has put together for me.

I know many people don't care about the bio stuff. However, since you so often hear people say that it's just as much about the maker as the knives, I thought it would be best to have that info.

I guess I could have just said, "I'm either in the shop or at the gym." :D Would have simpified it eh? lol

It was about 4-5 years ago I was coming in here begging people to give me hints on how to grind, fit bolsters, etc... So it's a really great feeling, to be a full-time smith now, and still be able to come in here and ask questions and maybe even help somebody else out.

Thanks so much Fellas!!! :D

Nick, Great site, was that push dagger in Blade? Anyway, extrememly nice knives, and site.

No offence man but i'd take another pic of myself to put up on the front page if i were you - the pretty guy there just screams "Buy [insert your favourite knock-off brand here] POS instead of real knives !!!"; he's too pretty to be a real knifemaker. Seriously. Lose that jacket, get your hair messy and your hands dirty and the page will just scream "Man make pointy things, urgh" :) You are a knifermaker afterall and not a pimp, right ?

Nick, I gotta hand it to you, you done good, youngster! You look too good in that picture, I agree. You just gotta mess that picture, for all of us fathers out here that have daughters about your age. My daughter is going to marry an electrician. He's a good guy, but he is not a knife maker, unfortunately. Your level of skill is most excellent, and you express this on your website, nicely stating facts in a down home way. Nicely done, and good pictures, too.

Nick, ol'John is right. I think you could even give me good competetion in a full bar with only one pretty women in the crowd.
