Sometimes "goop" or one of those lanolin based products will make the expand and make the crack "dissapear". Or you can fill the crack with superglue.

If the crack is real small, try the lanolin first. Superglue fixes are permanent, and will prevent the horn from breathing naturally. Makes a good finish on horn. You can also lacquer your horn to help seal it and prevent moisture loss, expanding contracting etc... But then its those spaces you cant reach that still breath. Oh, well Im rambling. But if you dye your superglue (a little horn dust will work good), the fix can be invisible. Dont be afraid to sand. Hmmm...dunno if this post makes any sense, or will help. But dem my .0033456 cents

Hooflex is a pine tar / lanolin product a lot of people seem to like. I use Corona Antiseptic Ointment the same way. It has 50% lanolin, beeswax, etc. Get it from my local tack store ($3.49 / 2 oz). A little goes a long way. Shines up the horn too. Arizona's tough on horn.

You have been given lots of great advice! :)

My personal suggestion is to use the superglue to seal the crack up. Crack repair with superglue is easy. I use Loctite superglue and an activator to set it up on the outside. Then I sand the repair smooth with the horn and polish it back up to a shine after.
I also think you should keep a supply of Hooflex or what ever product you can find in your local area to treat your horn handles on a regular basis. The treatments really add to the luster and shine of the horn and helps prevent further cracks from happening.
I usually treat my horn handles two or three times yearly. My climate does not seem to be as rough on horn as some climates do. I just concider it PM like oiling the blades and treating my wood handles with linseed oil. All part of the loving my khuks get. Even the sheaths need regular care in my opinion. I use leather dye, then shoe polish mixed with saddle soap. This keeps the sheaths supple and alive also.
Good luck with the fix. :D

A good horn maintenance product is Fougera "Lanolin Hydrous"- pure lanolin, purified water, and all natural.

If you're lazy like me...

Try the goop first. Slather it on and leave it for a few days. If that doesn't work clean the handle and try the superglue.

At least that's what I usually do. Sometimes I leave the goop on for several months becuase I'm lazy.

Seal the crack with superglue, and sand the excess with fine sandpaper - 1000 - up to 2000 grit. I recommend sealing the handle with 4 coats of Watco Danish Oil - wait 8 hours between applications, and follow the directions on the can.
When I used the Watco treatment, cracks-be-gone.
When I tried gooping the cracks, I just got more and more of them.

Fill the crack with CREAMY peanut butter and then cover it with a layer of blackberry jam to match the horns' darker color.
IF it doesnt work, then you can lick it all off and try something else.
