I got a SOG Gov-Tac. There has to be a easier way to get the knife out of the sheath. When I click it in it is really hard to get out. In fact I can not pull it out I have to try and spread the wings to get it out.

What am I missing guys? Surely there is a easier way to get it out of the sheath.

Here is an older thread where someone had the opposite problem, i.e. the sheath was too loose. The method described in this thread should work to make it easier to draw the knife out of the sheath, only you will want to flex the opening outward rather than inward (duh). I actually had the same problem with my TigerShark when I first got it, however it loosened up with use.

Thanks socintel, I will try the heating it and see what happens. It seemed to work for the other guy so it should do the trick.

Like he said, the internet is great. Loads of knowledgeable people with great advice.

want some knowledgeable advice? through that kydex crap in the bin and get a custom sheath

Sirgalant, I would agree with that advice. May end up doing just that. I always like leather much better. Good leather that is, not some of the cheap stuff they try and pass off now a days.
