Does anyone have a GOV Tac yet, and for those of you that do what do you think about the idea of using them as a hard use camp/utility knife for backpacking and wilderness survival type chores. Also, is it versatile enough to do said chores but also serve in the kitchen if need be? I know that may be asking too much from any one knife, but I was just curious. I love the look of this one. Got a Seal Pup Elite about 4 months ago and love it.

It's too light and the kydex sheath is not my cup o tea. I prefer a heavier / sturdier camp knife i.e. SOG Tech at a minimum.

Personally I'd use the SEAL pup elite for your kitchen slicing chores and go with one of the larger blades for the other. In the SOG line, I'd either go Tigershark or SEAL 2000 but the Tigershark will make a much better chopper.

Cheers!
