Hey, in the market for a slightly cheap ($100-150, maybe $200) GPS locator. Not sure what the legitimate name is, but trying to find a solid model so me and a couple buddies can pick some up for the upcoming season. Looking for something that also receives weather updates. Any help greatly appreciated.

I remember seeing a radio/gps unit at a store. I'm pretty sure it's made by Garmin and is called Rhino. The thing I thought was great was that you can transmit your location from one of the radios to the other. Great feature if God forbid something happens while hunting or after shooting the animal it's easier for your friends to find you to help drag it out.

While writing this I took a look. Here is Garmins website.

I like Garmin functionality. I find it more intuitive to use then Magellan and some of the other brands. My Garmin 76CSx was near your target price with the $100 factory rebate I got.

Pay attention to the GPS receivers. The new SiRF receivers are really much better in tree cover, in buildings, in your car, etc.

Surf around http://www.gpsnow.com/ before you make your purchase because besides good prices, they have good information to help you buy the right GPS unit for your intended use.
