I got one in trade and I probably wouldn't have ever purchased one myself, AND I was fully prepared to dislike it when I started testing it. However, I would say they are, in fact, as good as they say. I think they strike a unique balance. To me the handle is long for the weight of the head which provides powerful speed, but strikes a size balance for carrying around. There is no cheek, but the balance here is cutting and hewing capabilities vs splitting. The transition from the bit to the eye is a little abrupt which can cause some annoyance when splitting, but overall it seems to be a well done balancing act for an outdoor sort of axe that's easy to carry and does much more work than its size would suggest.
