This was a commissioned piece from a very kind-hearted man to his daughter as a graduation gift. She loves knives, black and white colors and music and drama so I tried to incorporate a little bit of all of that with this piece.

Hand forged from W2 steel, clay quenched for a really active hamon
5 1/2" blade, 10 1/4" overall, .165" thick at the ricasso
Full distal taper
Rounded spine
Black and white g-10 scales

All comments, critique and discussion welcome.

Very nice, that's a really neat gift! How'd you scribe on the drama and music symbols?

Thanks. The mask and music note are actually inlays.

Absolutely the best gift a girl could get considering she's into the above mentioned things.

Beautiful job John as usual.

You make some gorgeous knives J. Doyle. And that is one I think will be used and loved indeed.

Thanks again guys. I appreciate all the good words.
