I’ve been a big CRK daily user and collector for about 15+ years now. However, I haven’t bought a new knife or even looked at CRK’s in 4-6 years. My son is graduating HS and is going to a Prestigious Military College. I thoght a CRK for graduation would be nice nad think I have settled on a Inkosi. I can’t believe how little of them is out there.

What blade profile do yall reccomend now? I only have one insingo but its a collector and not a user, so I can not attest to its daily usage. I do not own any tantos because I feel like they are not EDC friendly or usable. I do think they are the coolest looking tantos out there though.

My first CRK was an inlayed large Inkosi Insingo. About 8 CRK folders later my most carried , most used is a PJ Inkosi drop point.

Really a coin flip for me. In use I like the Insingo better, but the drop point looks better and is no slouch.

An excellent, memorable gifteither way !

I've had my eyes on a Large Tanto Inkosi with black micarta inlays for some time. It's 100% EDC'able if you ask me.

Like P Peter Hartwig said the DP is the safe bet, but maybe u can try to fish out from ure son what he thinks looks nicest?

Personally I like the DP the best but in use I see no difference of significance. The insingo is easier to sharpen all the way to the tip, especially for beginners.

I'd go with the drop point as well. The insingo is a lot of folk's favorite blade shape, but we are knife nerds. For the normal people I think the drop point will just make more sense. Everyone knows how to use a drop point.

You can't go wrong with any blade as long as it is a Chris Reeve knife. I always give my two sons Chris Reeve knives for their accomplishment's. I have a large Sebenza Forever flag with engraving on the back side ordered for my son who is in the Air force. I can't wait to watch him open that one up.

On an Inkosi, the Insingo is king if you can find one. Drop point is just fine and just as good, with better availability.

Another vote for Insingo. I don't think any could be considered "more useful" or "better". Unless he does a lot of stabbing/piercing, then you could argue for tanto. It's largely personal preference and straighter edges like the Insingo have become extremely popular for a reason. They just work.
