any ideas on gifts ( knives ) for that high school/ college grad?? i'm thinkin a knife/flashlite combo this year for my neice. thanks .paul

The new orange Spyderco Urban with wharncliffe blade should be nice for many girls
But, are you certain this is what she wants most? Depending if or what she'll continue studying, other items may be more desirable. We shouldn't try to force our interests on others, but rather think about what they would like most as a present...

There ya go! They do love the money gifts!

Get her a peanut for her pocket or purse. I can't help with the flashlight I'm afraid.

Also, better check if she likes pink... at that age most girls (in my european experience) don't really care for pink anymore.
The orange urban however, that's a bit a wacky color, with good chance of being liked.

Nobody creates high quality cutesy stuff like the Japanese. If you're serious about the knife, I suggest Mcusta. It's a bit pricey, but even non knife nut can appreciate its beauty. Beware though, you might end up liking it and scramble for a different gift :D.

You can also go completely practical and get Buck Lumina; it's a folder - LED flashlight combo.

I would suggest a Fallkniven TK3 Mother of Pearl. A beautiful and classy knife.

Similarly, Moki also merits your interest.

Is she a cook? Maybe a handmade fixed blade cooking knife would be a nice gift. In the Maker's Forum, there are often some beautiful chef's knives or paring knives. She may get more use out of that.

Surefire E1B is small enough to fit into a small purse and not take up much room. As for the knife, Kershaw makes some rainbow looking knives and a pink chive.

I agree with Billbo, if she likes to cook then 2 or 3 nice kitchen knives (Global for example) would be a better gift than a pocket knife.

Here's a Moki Pendant.
Now that's cute and chic:
