Pictures! http://m.imgur.com/a/lAEPS
Recently recieved this one back from Curtis Berry at Midnight Sun Industries (an absolute pleasure to deal with I might add!) after searching high and low for someone capable of doing the work I was looking for, at the high quality I desired. I am not a fan of the original clip that comes on these knives, I wanted a more traditional side mounted clip. I gave him complete creative control of the project, and he absolutely knocked it out of the park in my opinion! Completely exceeded my expectations.
He designed the 3D Ti machined clip from scratch, and did an amazing job of following the lines and aesthetics of the knife, matches very nicely, and feels great in the hand, no hot spots! I chose to have Jon's original logo engraved as well. Doesn't ride as deep as the stock clip, but I don't mind at all, it has excellent retention, and is solid as a rock. It ingeniously utilizes the stock clip hole as a mounting point, so no extra holes were needed to be drilled.
Curtis also milled out the insides of each handle scale, managing to shave off exactly one ounce. Doesn't sound like much, but I can definitely notice a differece, and the knife now feels better balanced. He even made that look nice! Overall I am more than happy with how this knife turned out, the mods make me enjoy this knife so much more than I already did, just wanted to share my excitement. Hope some of you guys dig it as much as I do.
