I so love pics...

I had the Graham SPT for the past few weeks riding on a MercHarness. I just started puttin pants on today and that was quite the project :haha:
Watch the zipper....YIKES!!!!
I got this in my pudgie wee hands when I saw a post mentioning it. I never saw it before. Turns out the SPT is one of their first designs.
Everyone's so GAGA over the uniqueness of the Razel I overlooked this beauty.
I pleaded, cried, offered many things to have this in my hands. J&J relented and here's the tale.

This is Kevin. A handsome MAN. Genetics I think...X chromosome.

OK. OK back to the blade....
It's a right little handful. I like my knives for edc on the below 4 inch size.
This fits the mitt real well. The curve to the handle fits the hand and projects the blade into a user position for thrusting, edc work, etc....

The wood on this ain't wood at all...IT"S MICARTA. What wonderful work this is.

It is 154 blade steel.....How do I know that...
CAUSE
I told Josh that this cut so well and maintained an edge so long that it proved that they should make all their knives out of S30V. (I'm an S30 snob)
The Sombech about floored me and took my speech away when he tol me that it's 154....DAMN!!!!!
There's a rip in the fabric of my S30 universe....

It ain't easy to make me speechless!!!!

Here it's makin several quick passes, after bein used for a coupla edc weeks and no sharpening.....
The grind on this is incredible. I have great respect for Jerry Hossom and the info he's put out on the abilities of 154 when properly heat treated and ground. This proves his points once again. I guess i didn't believe ity till now...Experience is KING!
A GREAT STEEL AND grind. I love the blade shape.
Notice how thin I can cut with this. It was a joy in the kitchen, slicin and dicin.
EDC stuff like boxes, envelopes..etc was a breeze. Edge held forever!!
These pics were today and I didn't even give it a lick on my strop...

Look at the edge on this baby! A stout blade!!! I didn't take pics of my thrustin it into wood and twisting it to burrow a hole. No tip bending here :)

This is surprisingly light and the curve of the handle is a beaut. The ease of draw with the Mercharness is truly a joy

The Kydex sheath and Teklok didn't get a workout cause of my one armedness :)

This fit the hand in all grips

Here's why I wasn't modeling for this lovely piece of steel art
With a gut like this I'm surprised I didn't do a field Lipocutomy (word???)

Tom

Try carrying on your strong side and pull straight down.
It can be easy to trap your elbow when you reach across your body.

Otherwise, great review. Pics, humor and best of all...
No cinderblocks were harmed!
;)
:D

I thought I had posted a review of this knife, but Tom pointed out that I hadn't. Thanks for the reminder.
This knife had everone I showed it to asking what kind of wood is that? I now know that its micarta. The fit and finish on this knife was wonderful as I've come to expect from Graham Knives. I realy liked this knife for EDC and If I didn't already have a Razel that I've been EDC for over a year I would have an order in for one. I guess from reading some of the other comments on this knife that some thought it was to pertty to use. I've found from using my Razel hard that the only thing needed to keep it looking like new, shine and all is keep it clean and use some polish on it ocasionaly. This knife is made to be used. It worked very good on all the tasks that I put it through, striping wire, cutting stretch wrap, ect. If you would like a nice EDC that you don't have to be afraid to use hard and would be proud to show to people I would recommend Graham Knives weather its the SPT of one of thier other fine knives.

AHHHH the Glycine Combat. Hacks, winds manual and auto, on a Hirsch carbon fiber with deployment clasp.
Rockin watch!

Tom,
Sweet knife and sweeter watch!! Have you tried it ona Ginlser Sharkskin? Those are my favorite straps? Gotta use the EOT deployant instead of the Ginlser though, I like it way better.

The Merc-harness is cool too. Easy concealed carry, fast deploymant.

You son is a fine looking young man, thank the Lord he takes after his mother!!

I liked reading your review, pics are cool!

I haven't had any of Don's straps....YET :)
I think I have his name correct...yes????
I emailed him a while back about sizing and Don Ginsler was a wealth of knowledge. He didn't have the type and size of what I was lookin for...then.

Hey knifetester throw up his link if you have it....

The MercHarness is very useful and practical...

My Son is, frighteningly, the image of my Dad and brother.....
I've often asked my Mom for DNA testing as I was sure I was adopted..or....
I'm VERY proud of Airrman Kevin.
God's jest has him stationed 40 miles from me so he comes home LOTS and we have a great time. (Poor Kevin puttin up with me tho)

Thanks
Your reviews are well done and the pics are great!
Check out the newest KnifeTester about Framelocks in the Review Forum...VERY cool and informative!

I had the opportunity to carry this particular knife, thanks to Tom, for about a week and a half, and I have to say it is one little honey of a piece.
I used it for everything; mail, food prep, sharpened a pencil, general utility cutting, and while it is not particularly awesome at any one task, it is great at all tasks.
Additionally, it is thick enough to not ever have to worry should it be called upon to perform beyond the duties of a knife in an emergency.
I did not have a mercharness to use with it, put the multi position techlock rig that comes with it worked really well in strong hand vertical, strong hand horizontal, weak hand vertical, weak hand horizontal, and even upside down (I carried it locked to the shoulde strap of my coveralls, inverted, crawling around in my crawl space, replacing a bad sump pump and filters).
It was always a welcomed addition.
