As many of you know (and have bought from me) I thinned out my HI collection save for a few hallmark blades. I'd like to share a photo with a new arrival.

Top blade is the new addition, a Samsher by Murali. 20" and a whopping 48oz. I picked this up from A well know forumite in his for sale thread. She was fresh off my buffing wheel in this picture.

The middle blade is a 17" 26oz Foxy Folly by Bura

Bottom blade is the legendary Bonecutter by the Sgt. 18" and 36oz

Wow! Beautiful Blades! That Murali is a monster and that FF well ....Bawanna.. cover your eyes my friend!
 
I'm not sure what the heck I'm looking at? Non-habaki? Oh yeah and my eyes are covered, that doesn't help either.

You can look now. Just for a few seconds tho.
The little flat part of the bolster that protrudes up on the blade. The part that wraps around the blade. The bonecutter below does have a habaki. You might notice your Longleaf doesnt have one either ..or its minimal to nothing if it does.

OK cover yur eyes again. Kinda like looking at the sun you know? Cant look too long;)

That's kind of what I guess but I wasn't sure, only thing I could see different.

I can't type for beans with my eyes closed.

That FF rocks. Yeah, I looked again, very briefly. I'll probably be blind by lunch time.
 
Tip of the day: Take a piece of paper and poke a hole in it! You can look at it longer that way. I didnt say "cut" a big basketball size hole with your Rajkumar FF tho.

If you keep doing that you will go blind for sure! And possibly grow some hair on your palms!
 
call me a fool, but can anyone describe what the difference between habaki and non habaki style?
