I finally found the grail knife that I was looking for, at a price that I could manage to swing, and she arrived today! Here's pics...

As far as I can tell she's a 1 of 300 SHBM with original kydex and the sales brochure from Jerry dated June 1999. Yowza! :D :D :D

The funny thing is that less than 24 hours before this one became available I had posted an "I'll Take It" on another SHBM. So for now I have two of these suckers. Here's a side by side...

The difference is that the 2nd has a completely uncoated spine, tube fasteners, larger talon and rear talon holes, and no swedge. The 1 of 300 has an uncoated handle, screws, smaller talon holes, and swedge combining to make the handle slightly heavier and the blade slightly lighter so that the balance is in the middle of the choil instead of the front of the choil.

What a HOG!!!

Very nice my friend. Which one is going to be the user?

Man, this really has been your lucky year, huh??? :eek:

Nice scores, VoxHog! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

That one with the swedge is so ugly:eek:

You really shouldn't have to put up with it. Send it to me and I'll take care of it ;)

Don't say it too often, but "NICE PAIR":D Really nice pair.

Congrats on the SHBM's... they are pretty high up there on my "want" list, way more so than the more recent BM's....

If you ever want to get rid of one of 'em cheap, remember that time when I gave you that number you really wanted???? ;) ;) :thumbup: :D

Thanks for all of the good words! I held out for years before I decided to take the SHBM plunge but after handling them I now understand why they evoke such rabid enthusiasm. :thumbup:
