It's a descriptor you find most days on the Sale forums. Wouldn't it connote a knife that is recognized as rare, highly sought after and typically quite expensive? More often than not, it's used on BF to define a multitude of readily available, high end production models. That's okay but as an overused classification, the term has dwindling impact.

I feel lucky that something doesn't have to be unique for me to enjoy it. Rarity helps though, and something rare (but not unique) in the knife world is basically unique in the real world heh. I've yet to run into a CRK out in the wild - so to me it could be a grail knife, because literally nobody I bump into will have one. YMMV

Not really, everyone's grail is different. I think of it as the perfect knife for that particular individual.

What that is, is open to interpretation. For some it's an easily found knife, for others it's often impossible.

I don't even have a knife I would consider a "grail knife"

For me the word would indicate a knife that was hard to find or was more expensive than I was normally able to spend. And everybody has a different budget so for one person a Paramilitary 2 would be a grail, for others it would be a Hinderer.
