Gran Torino New Clint Eastwood movie Clints a Bada$$ again

While he might not be considered conservative in the Deep South, but Clint ran for mayor of Carmel By The Sea as a Republican and has been registered as such for decades, but considers himself a libertarian. I see him as kind of like Stanley Kubrick as far as how he chooses his projects, albeit without some of the personality quirks. He finds a good story and makes a movie without worrying so much about the specific subject matter or political perceptions ascociated with it. I resisted seeing Mystic River until it came on cable because of the schlubs that were in it, but it was a great movie as was Million Dollar Baby. Even his "fun" films like Space Cowboys are well done. Clint has ben a busy boy lately. He will be getting Changeling and Gran Torino released in time for both of them to be eligible for the Oscars this year.

I am really excited for this movie Clint is one of my favorite actors and this looks like a perfect role for him.

New Clint Eastwood Movie Gran Torino looks like it might be pretty good I don't know what to think he comes off as the typical Hollywood Liberal then make a movie like this.

If you're expecting it to be an action movie you're going to be sorely disappointed. It's a drama about a racist (Eastwood) who comes to terms with his racism in an unpredicatable and unusual way.

This is an excellent movie and the ending is very moving.

The previews made me think he had ripped off "Death Wish" the way he ripped off "Shane" with "Pale Rider".

Still might see it, though.

What?!?! Well, there goes my interest in it.... :grumpy:

Yep, I kept thinking he was going to kick everyones ass until I realised he wasn't :) Kinda like when watching Million Dollar Baby and realising it wasn't about boxing anymore.

there come a time in a man's life when doors aren't goin' to open any longer.
that's when he realizes that the ulimate test of a man is to see it through the only way he knows how...

Saw it Tuesday night, the Mrs. and I both really enjoyed it. Really good movie, not Dirty Harry, but a very good film nonetheless.
