Grand Trunk Hammocks?

I found a good deal on a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater hammock.

Does anyone have experience with this one, or the companys products?

Cost is becoming a major issue for me at this point.
So as cool as stuff like Hennesy looks I'm looking for stuff I can actually afford....

Not that one, I don't.
I did try a Hennessey.
I settled on a Clark's.
Big money, for sure.
You get what you pay for.
The Hennessey is 'different" to get in and out of.
Go see videos on You tube.

J Williams and I both have the Skeeter Beater and they are great hammocks. Very easy to set up and take down. Lots of nice features such as the mesh netting, the pockets, and the attached stuff sack. Try it. I don't think you could find a better hammock for the price.

+1, I really like mine. Very easy to set up.

All right then I'll be getting one.

Hennesy, stuff appeals to me, but the setup I would want is about $170. I can get the Grand Trunk for less than $40, and add my own tarp...Which initially is going to be improvised out of a $5 painters dropcloth made out of 2 mil plastic. :D

Grand Trunk was formerly known as Travel Hammock. I have a Travel Hammock Ultralight that I got several years ago. It has served me very well. This summer I purchased a Grand trunk All Terain Hybrid Hammock, and will make that my #1 go-to hammock for future adventures. It is longer and wider than the lightweight. It can be configured as a hammock or a tarp very easily. I like it becasue I can lay on one side and fold the excess over me, and sort of make it into a suspended bivvy. I'll try to get some example pics up.

Edit: The Grand Trunk ATHH is coated ripstop nylon, so it'll offer some protection from the elements.

I did the pics myself. They don't really illustrate what I intended, but I had limited time to set the timer on the camera and then get positioned in the hammock. I am almost 5' 11, and currently weight around 180#. I can lay on one side of the hammock, completely cover myself with the excess material, and still have enough material left on the open side as to make rolling out difficult. Flat dimensions are 6' x 10'. It is a little narrow for use as a tarp, but it will work. Grand Trunk states the weight to be 21 oz. Not super-lightweight, but not too bad.

And since the adoption of our 2 y/o boy in late June, camping trips have been off the agenda until next year. Hence, which is why I made that fancy hammock stand. :)
