I am not a big Barlow fan but the sentimental value of this one is huge. My grandmother died a while back and we are still going through things. My grandfather died in 1968 and was a retired carpenter/contracter. This one is marked with a 4 line tang stamp. Camillus with a solid line then New York then USA on the bottom. Pattern # 50. The old Stanley plane is a model 220 and still works great. I also wound up with his Remington 1148 automatic 12 gauge as well.

Nice barlow and plane. I used to collect planes but now my collection is mostly the ones that I inherited from my grandfather. I only have a couple of his knives.

Great Barlow. I'm happy I found my Great-Grandad's knife, because it would have been long gone by now.

I have no knives from either side of my grandfathers.

I did inherit one Grandpa's .357 S&W revolver (model 66, but not a super old one).

My grandma on my dad's side is still around. She is 97, and still lives on her own! She has a few old carbon steel butcher knives I want (one looks very much like a big Hudson Bay pattern). But I have not seen any old folders.

A great knife with a great history behind it. Hopefully it is something that you will be able to pass on to one of your grandkids someday.

Excellent, plucker. I've got my grandfather's old Stockman. Nothing will make me surrender that.
