I have been remiss.

I have had this pair of my grandfathers knives for some time, and don't believe I have posted up photo's.

These are some of the knives that my grandfather used to butcher his cows. My father passed them to me.

There is at least another one or two up at the family fishing place.

I had about 40 lbs of chicken to trim tonight.

Nice! What an honor to have his knives. I know I very much cherish my Grandfather's pocket knives. They're well worn and were obviously carried and used heavily.

Dave, those are wonderful knives that have a long heritage. Use them with pride. It's totally amazing how our grandfathers got by with a plain pice of carbon steel, and couple pieces of wood riveted on to hang onto. Think of how many folks went west to homestead with knives just like those and a barlow in the pocket.

Nice pair of Old Hickorys you got there. 3 generations old, and still going strong. :) That "Buffalo Skinner" with the curved blade looks to have processed a lot of meat over the decades.

Good they're still in use T, congratulations

I was also given one of Grandpa's pocket knives a year or two ago.

Dad had been keeping an eye our for it. Grandma is turning 101 years old this year, but Grandpa passed about 23 years ago. We found the knife when we were moving grandma.

I got 5 old hickory knives from my grandmother and grandfather's house when they passed and use them often in the kitchen. When ever im using them in the kitchen i cant help but think of them. Great score man ..enjoy them and remember the good times.

"Dave?.....Dave?..... Dave's not here!"

What a great story and some beautiful knives. Enjoy them and the family history behind them my friend.

Big-T: so cool you got your grandpa's pocketknife. And it's a Barlow!!!

Love the clip main. Hope you get to use it gently. I occasionally take out my grandpa's Old Timer.
