Well, thanks for the info on the Amboyna stabilization. I ended up not stabilizing the scales.
Here is my Grandpa's X-mas gift. I patterned it after the Schrade Sharp Finger. I modified the blade shape a bit and made it a bit bigger. Here are the specs:
Blade: 3.75
Over all Length: 7.5
Blade Material: Single Star Twist damascus, 153 layers of 1095 and 15N20
Blade Thickness: 0.15
Tang: Full, Tapered
Pins: Mosaic
Handle: Amboyna Burl with Danish oil finish
Weight: 4 oz.
Let me know what you all think, all that is left to do is make the sheath and remember not to screw up drilling the holes in the scales next time
