Our grandson is back in Fort Benning, Georgia. He finished his tour flying Blackhawks doing Medivac in Iraq. He won't talk about what he saw over there very much, just things in general, nothing specific. A lot like the guys were that were in Nam. He said his unit is scheculed to go back in 2008.

My brother's getting back soon, he's a Marine grunt.

I respect those guys so much, and we owe them our lives for their sacrifices.

He is in the 498th Medivac Unit. I've never heard him mention that name.

Send him a big thanks from me too. I'm worried about my high school buddies, I don't have any contact email addresses or physical addresses. At least I know the status of my cousins who are over there.

Here in the bay Area, there's a Talk Radio Commentator on KGO that is embedded with the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364, which is nicknamed "The Purple Foxes." (I thought it was a long shot that your Grandson was with them.)

Please tell him that we owe him a debt of gratitude. We sleep peacefully in our beds at night because of our armed forces.

Silent, I don't know where this avatar origionated. Someone sent it to me.
