Granite Surface Plates 9x12x2 $19.99 @ woodcraft.com!!!

I spotted that the other day while at Woodcraft. I didn't post it , but am glad you did.

On a similar topic, last night I picked up nine boxes of 18X18" black granite. The polished granite is 3/4" thick and was for doing those $100,000 bathroom re-mods the folks on the north end of the beach like. I bought them from a contractor who had them left over from a big job....all 36 panels for $200. The new shop will now have granite work bench tops in some places and stainless steel tops in others......and a small granite topped bar in the sitting/thinking room.
I had been given three sheets of stainless steel two years ago. Each sheet was 10'X4'X18 gauge. I had two of them sheared and bent as countertops 24" wide with a 4" lip on the front and a 12" backsplash on the back. These were for the cutting/grinding tools area of the bench. No problem cleaning up the bench when it is smooth and hard. The other sheet I will use to make a stainless dust collector cyclone system.

Thanks Grizzly!

I've been wanting one but hadn't gotten around to it. At this price I couldn't afford not to do it. Just placed my order:thumbup:

Just thought I would post this find. I was browsing around for granite plates and found this pretty sweet deal.

http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2004864/7535/Granite-Surface-Plate.aspx

They are 9" x 12" x 2". $19.99 on sale from $32.00!

Shipping is standard $6.99 (which isn't bad, most places wanted at least $25 shipping cause of weight!).

Thanks Grizzly. I wonder if they'll have these in store as well. I have one abut 5 miles from me...

When I got mine a few years ago they had it at my locl store and will honor the web price.

Picked one up this afternoon (along with some great South African wood which will make some great handles!) Thanks for the heads - up, Grizzly!

I got mine already! What a great deal! Thanks for the tip GB! Should this granite plate be sealed or waxed? The reason I ask, because when I handle it, you can see the moisture marks from your hand. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
