I just picked up a Gransförs Bruk single bit, probably 3.5-4lb with a GAB under the crown.
I'm incredibly new to axes and there's not much info I can find online.
Can anyone tell me about it?
*I still haven't figured out pictures here, so sorry for being unable to provide one*

We will need to see pictures, but I'm guessing there is probably evidence of it having come painted blue and is probably one of the axes they used to import to north America for sale at a competitive price.

Does it look anything like this ?

Yes! It still is blue. Single crown with the GAB stamp.
That would be one of their competitively priced exports.
I've been told they were considered the cheap imports back in the day, but they are definitely good axes.
I know they were common in the 60's and 70's, but I don't know how early or how late they were being imported.

It’s Gränsfors with the dots over “a” and not the “o” btw 😉

Gransfors were common log truck and fire tool box axes here in the North West back the 70's. Lower priced imports that were carried a lot but not used very often. Chinese axes have filled that slot these days.
