I have kind of limited access to the internet right now as I am working for a couple of weeks in northern Wisconsin, but I just had to take the time to post this.

In Rhinelander WI there is a fairly nice sporting goods store that I always stop at and I about fell over when I visited there this time and found a bunch of Gransfors axes. I immediately bought one (the small hatchet) and can say without a doubt that these are not your run of the mill cutting tools. They are outstanding quality and beautiful to boot. The hatchet I bought is razor sharp and very comfy to use. I am definitely grinning on this one. For $60, this may be one of the best bargains in cutting tools around. Lot of class and a tool that will last for a long, long time. I believe the warranty is 20 years.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the hatchet chops like mad.

Agreed. I bought one of their felling axes a while back..., only axe I've ever seen that'll shave right out of the box.

If it shaves right out of the box, what do you need a fixed blade for? Sounds like my kind of Hatchet.
Has anyone tried the Marble's Hatchet? How does that compare?

The Marbles is nice looking but maybe too nice looking for serious work and a little on the light side.
