I was looking for a good axe for pretty much all you could use an axe for felling, limbing, skinning, notching, splitting, throwing ect. I was looking at gransfors axes and they are a little pricey. I dont mind paying for something thats gonna last. My question is has any one put one of these through the wringer i was eyeballing the carving axe but the way they advertise it looks like i'm gonna have to go camping with 5 different axes

I was giving some thought to getting a GB axe. I was looking at the Carpenters Axe. It seemed to be a good replacement for my Eastwing.

I just received a copy of the GB axe book i ordered it from lee valley for $1.00 .it is the best literature i could ask for to decide on a model (its the book that comes w/ every axe). inside is a detailed description of every axe/maul and the intended use for it . the carpenters axe is described as "functioning like a good heavy knife".i think the one for me is the scandanaivian forest axe though i still havent decided if i am gonna get one yet the cold steel hawk is lookin good real good right now
