I already have a Mini and a SFA, but have been looking for a Wilderness. During the searches I have been doing during the past two weeks I have found everything, with the exception of the mini, at about 25% less than the norm during the past several years. Anyone else notice this? I, for one, am glad.

where have you found these prices, I have the carpenters axe and I was looking for the wildlife to camp with but it is still 110 cheapest. any leads would be much appreciated

Oops, you bring up a good point as well. I mean wildlife as opposed to wilderness, not enough beer yet.

I've never understood why GB axes sell for the prices that they do in North America.

A few years ago I was given a small forest and it cost £45, now they cost £50, that's less than what an Izula costs over here, and a Junglas costs £200!

For the price of 5 of the cheapest Moras we can buy a good quality axe, I see little reason why a European should want to buy any other make.

Wow just checked on Ebay, yeah you're right small Forest Axe is $40 cheaper from uk vendors!
One of the rare instances where things are cheaper over there.

I am in the market for the forest axe. If you guys find a place to get that at a reasonable price let me know.

Has anyone ever had issues with the head loosening on the GB axe?

One more question...Wetterlings is Swedish. How does it compare to GB?

...for around $127 shipped, with the Buy It Now function.

One thing I have noticed, this being my second Mini, is that the new Mini I got was forged by Mattias Mattson, as opposed to Lennart Petersen (sp?) who designed and originally forged the Mini's exclusively.

Maybe more folks involved affected prices? Not sure, but interesting.

Professor.

I got a GB wildlife from Eck bay and for $75, saved $25, but the shipping is a little more.

I bought some pewter from Norway for a few dollars, what a bargain, shipping was $14 about 6 years ago:eek:

find some bargain's be careful

Pat

I paid 75 bucks for my GB Hunters, 52 for my Wildlife and 75 for my mini.

It's suprising how much they have gone up.

Still, with the exception of Lee Reeves stuff most of the custom hatchets I have had were as expensive as a GB but with a way less sharp edge.

When you think how much we'll pay for a 4inch knife, why do some folks reckon $100 is too much for an axe? With all that steel and wood, and a 20yr guarantee, it seems a fair price to me.
