Well in July I took a tour through Sweden and Norway. I made time to take a tour of Gransfors Bruks Forge. This was an incredible experience watching them make their axes that many of us use and love.

I shot a ton of video of the forge and they let me walk around freely to see how the various parts of the operation work. I put together a video of the forge highlights so you can see how they make their axes yourself:

Enjoy!

Well, that was pretty damn cool.

You really do have to be an artist to work that metal correctly with all those different steps.

I can't believe they let you in there, in the USA I am sure you would have to schedule that weeks in advance and fill out paper work, etc.

Look like some good ole boys making axes.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the video, that was really interesting to see how they are made. I used to own a Gransfors and really regret selling it... maybe it's time to get a new one.

Oh they let you walk all over. They didn't care where I went to be honest. They were even happy to be filmed. I have some footage from their axe museum which I will post in another video in the near future.

But they are a great group and were very friendly.

Great behind the scenes on the GB plant.
Love my GB mini.
Thanks for posting.

I'm waiting for evening to watch the video. I intend to watch it with an ice cold beer in my hands.

I'm glad to hear that they were friendly over there. Damn, I need a Mini.

That was amazing seeing how they made the axe's.

Thanks for making the video.
