I bought a gransfors from a guy in Sweden. Got it for a great price. Sadly, when I received it the handle had been cut off. I was a bit heartbroken, but still pleased because I've been wanting a gransfors for a while but couldn't bring myself to spend the money.

So, where can I find gransfors hafts?

Thought I'd add the pic...

Thanks in advance for the help.

GBA hafts are rather expensive, you'd be better off ordering from House Handle or Beaver Tooth I'd think.

Don't have it with me. Rather small. Like boys axe.

I'm just wondering why you want a GB haft that will cost you $30+

When you can buy one from Househandle dot com and pay one third the price. House gives you the measurements of the eye that their handles will fit.

Good luck, Tom

The handles should be similar, maybe even better than GB. To be honest, the GB handles need thinning down, like most purchased handles today. They do make a nice handle, but one you work on yourself is even better.

Anyone know where to get good handles in Canada? The shipping and import will just kill house handle prices.

I've got some house handles. Wasn't sold on gb handle. Just wanted something that would look like the gb style handle. But not terribly interested in paying the $30 for a gb handle. Probably go with something roughly the size of a boys axe handle.

Paying $30 defeats the deal on the axe. Just kills me the guy cut a perfectly good haft off. Guess was easier to ship across the pond.

I think you've read this entirely right. On the other hand it would have been fitting/nice/proper to say you'd fork over another $10 in order to have the 'whole kit and kaboodle' arrive intact. Wood is replaceable whereas stamps on steel heads is not. Only thing, $30 today won't get you the selection, purchase and shipping of a first class haft no matter how hard you try.

Its a beautiful little hatchet head.

The GB handle that would be most appropriate for that head is the one for the Wildlife Hatchet. It is pretty much a straight haft(they used to be curved). I much prefer a curved one myself and a trip to your local hardware store and less than ten bucks you can hand select a scout handle that would go good with that little hatchet. Problem solved and you have a nicer handle.

I'm 6'5", so it looks like a hatchet. It's actually a 2lb head. Gonna probably put it on a boys axe handle.
