Gransfors Bruks Spelling???

I just watched a video review (see attached) about the GB Scandinavian Forest Axe. I watched it to see if there was any new information regarding this model. BTW, I own a GB Scandinavian Forest Axe purchased several years ago before they were priced out of reach for mortal humans.

Something strange was pointed out during the video. The Maker's mark on the haft of my Axe is "Gransfors Bruks Sweden", and is spelled that way. However, in the video, this gentleman's Axe is spelled "Gransfors Bruk Sweden", no 's' on the name "Bruk". It appeared his was a newer version of the Axe as well, there were different photos in the "Axe Book".

Given the recent trend to counterfit any and all products, I was wondering if this was a knock-off, or did "Gransfors Bruks" simply make a change?

This is probably a silly question, but it's not my first, nor will it be my last.

Thanks in advance,

SJ

Gransfors made a change, as verified in this earlier thread:

Got a speedy reply from Mr. Jorgen Westerlund from the Sweden office. And they have indeed changed the stamp, so the new production units come without the "s." The distinction according to him is that the company name is Gransfors Bruks Ab Sweden, but the product name is Gransfors Bruk Sweden. Sent the e-mail this morning and got a reply in less than an hour!

How's that for a succinct reply. For history and detail Steve Tall is the best. Whenever this happened is going to be of some interest to future owners and collectors so now is a good time to make note of this. If you (for instance) figure on seriously getting into collecting G-B Swede export goods this info is a good start.

You guys are the best! I have rarely asked a question and not been given a 'definitive' and plausible, if not, spot-on correct answer. Thanks!

While I do have a modest collection, I'm not a collector. I use every edged tool I own for it's intended purpose. At 61 years old, I'm not doing a lot of timber felling or framing at this point in my life, but I do like to whittle the odd spoon or bowl. Primarily, my current stable are primarily Carving Axes.

Thanks again!
