i recently acquired a Gransfors Bruks Swedish double-bit felling axe from my grandfather's workshop and have started a restoration on it. so far i've just given it a vinegar bath and some wiping with a cloth. any idea what year it's from/ and if i should sand it down and shine it up or just wipe it with some oil and hang it as-is..?

looks just like the GB cruiser head (well, yours is bigger/heavier) I picked up for $25 on eBay a month or two ago. worth more than that, though, IMO.

nice.......

Looks very nice. If she were mine, I'd give her a good scrubbing with a wire brush. It doesn't appear to have any pitting. I'll bet she'll clean up very nicely. It will last you a generation if taken care of.

Double ott
