Is the outdoor axe worth the money required to get it? I have a forest axe and am well pleased. But the outdoor axe is about 50.00 more.

The 425 is worth every penny. People that dont have them or who are afraid to use them dont understand how well they perform ive had mine for 6 months it has replaced every hatchet i have because it is honestly the first hatchet that fits the bill for everything i use it for. 1 its very light 2 it chops like a beast 3 it splitslike a full size axe 4 it carves very well. They only drawback i have with it is that the sheah that comes with it sucks.

I just got mine and I now agree they are worth it. The rest of the hatchets will now gather dust in the rack.

Im not going to list the 80 hatchets i have to compare the 425 to ive been collecting for 20 years i have every major brand and several obscure ones swedish italian american german japanese ive tried them all. The fact is you can make any hatchet perform if you know the skills to use them. The 425 hurt to spend the money but ill never regret it because of said reasons above in previous post. Cost does not mean good in all cases in this case it does.

The side profile looks like a Hudson bay. I like a little more wood to head contact area. I wonder how it will hold up for you guys?
It's for sure not a hatchet for me but I can see how it might work for some. Interesting little hatchet.
