With the upcoming grapefruit season I am looking to purchase a new knife for sectioning the halves.

Anybody have any ideas, brands, suggestions, or what to look for in one of these tools?

All input is appreciated. Hopefully I will buy the right one the first time.

Thanks a lot.

I have not seen a grapefruit knife for ages, I assume you mean the one that has the blade bent so it is rounded to cut out the fruit from the peel?

Yes this is what I meant.
Got a RADA Cutlery one coming in, cheep and made in the USA.
Also ordered a set of grapefruit spoons.

I've got a cheapie made-in-japan one that didn't cost me more than $5. Ground a sharp edge on the rounded nose and it works like an absolute charm. RADA is good stuff for tough and inexpensive "kitchen drawer" type knives. They need touching up frequently, but they can take a lot of abuse. :)
