Since we already have threads for stag, horn and bone hafted traditional knives, I thought we should have one specifically for GEC's primitive bone. The color and texture of this material is just outstanding. I can CE and CF these knives for hours. I'll start us off.

Bring on those Primitive Bone pics!!

Wow, I love those! That pioneer is fully badass with that match-striker long pull and massive skelly goodness. Thanks for posting the pics, man. Of course you know you're just adding fuel to the acquisition fire :)

The scale on this one is awesome! How about the other side?

I wish they all looked this good. I have seen some pretty gnarly ones.

The scale on this one is awesome!

I agree! That's one of the nicest Primitive bone slabs I've seen. It's reminiscent of ancient bark ivory. Raiding that ol' bovine necropolis has really paid off for GEC.

One of mine:

Stu, here is the flip side of both my primitives.

Each has a crack (stabilized), but neither one runs through to the end of the scale, and neither one touches a pin, so I'm not concerned. Both of mine have beautifully matched scales and are among my favorites.

Here's my GEC Primitive Bone 4" Powderhorn

Very nice as always Rick.

Dang Jeff, I just might have to get one of those linerlocks.

I wanna play! :) (even though my scales don't have much character).
My little buddy sharing an orange with me:

Great pics. I hope my next GEC, whatever model that may be, can come in primitive bone. It's nice looking stuff.

These are very nice, gonna have to order me one in the primitive bone . I really like the looks of these scales.

Quite a few more releases of GEC Primitive Bone have hit the market since this thread was added to, so I'm resurrecting it. It's nice to keep the pics all in one place for future reference.

Here's a Primitive Bone Cuban I recently scored.

Wow! I must say, I haven read the thread about a year and one month ago. But the history of that bone is great. I really love the bone. The weathered look is fine. As I can imagine on a #23 they would look absolutelly great, because of the bigger surface. Don´t have one, til now.

Thank you guys for bringing the thread back to daylight from graveyard ;)

Kind regards
Andi
