Gravitator vs. Skirmish?

For those of you who EDC either of these knives, which is better as an EDC utility knife? I plan on using it for opening boxes, cutting tape, cutting wire, removing wrap, and at the bottom of the list: self defence. For those of you who own either one, which one should I have if I can only have one. How does Benchmade's 154cm hold up against their S30V (I really like Spyderco's S30V). Also, how well does the coating (BK1) hold up against daily use? I have a Black bladed Gravitator in the mail, and I'm wondering if I'm going to want to trade it for the full size Skirmish. Thank you for your replies.

I think both blades will serve you well. S30V IMHO, is a but better than 154CM. For the applications you described, the Gravitator will serve you well. The Skirmish is a great knife also, but it runs in the large size. I EDC it regularly and have no complaints.

Well, Gravitator isn't exactly small either.
I think Gravitator is probably the best value (in production knives) currently on the market.

I edc'd the skirmish for about 6 months and now edc a spydie military but it was between the military and the gravitator for which would be the new "it" knife. I choose the spydie and now I am going to buy the Snody also because dammit this is Amuhrica and I have credit! ; )
