This is my Model 2 with Persian blade set up with my all new Gravitron assist in the tip up carry mode. I have been carrying this knife for 2 months using it every day, with over 1,000 openings on it at the time I shot this video. This is quite possibly the worlds first DA assisted opener, and is almost impossible to tell from a manual knife. I will be able install this in every model knife I make now and any future models. It needs absolutely no oil in the actual mechanism and it is the first prototype of two with the second being completely reversible from tip up to tip down carry by simply removing one bolster and flipping a small plate then re-installing the bolster with two screws. I will put a list of positive and negative things below and you decide if it's got potential or not.

Video link below.

POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES
1. No button to set it off in the pocket.
2. No sear to wear and cause tip rise.
3. Can be reversed from tip up to tip down carry with ease.
4. Double action operation.
5. Straight spring design for power that can be replaced in 5 minutes if ever necessary.
6. Right and Left hand ambidextrous opening.
7. Front or reverse grip opening possible when set up right.
8. Can't be set off by dropping.
9. Can't be easily identified as an assisted opener.
10. When opened manually for use the spring cannot be released accidentally or otherwise.
11. It can be installed in every folding knife design I make or will make!

Now for the NEGATIVE side.
1. Needs almost no oil and over oiling is a no no.
2. Must be angled to at least the minimum angle to operate, between 30-45 degrees which is actually natural.
3. Highly susceptible to being lost at parties! Don't set it down!
4. If lost, the lucky guy that finds it may never figure out it's true potential!

Let me know what you think!

Thank you Calvin! I put my heart and soul into every one! Sometimes a few finger tips:grumpy: :D

Thank you Richard! I may build a few of my model 2's with the tip up only mechanism in them if I can get back on my feet here. It sucks being in a family crisis situation!

Will be upgrading here in a few days to knifemaker status...just getting my accounts back up and in order...

If anyone would be interested in one of these Knives, I might be coaxed into building some....

Also, This prototype has been my EDC for 4 years and I designed it to never need oil which actually just collects dirt in a mechanism...It was built dry and has never been oiled except for a little roller inside that probably didn't need it...it has had several thousand openings and has had zero measurable tip rise and has been cleaned twice by blowing it out...still functions as new and since I eliminated the parts that wear in my design...it will probably never wear out! I will be handing it down to my son...and he to his.

I like what I can see. What are you doing with the design? Patent on your mind or are you sharing? Thanks

It is and has been protected from the beginning. I was contacted last year in regards to the mechanisms design.... Still in the works... I may share the double action design that is not reversible....but not the DA reversible model or the SA version in either configuration. I will build the proto's for each and put them up on here for sale starting with the DA non rev. in a model 2 format. I can build to suit as far as handle materials and blade style etc. if contacted early. If interested I will be starting a list with #1
